The lights are used by prosumers, and professionals. |
No. Basically, the lights are are designed to use video camera batteries. |

The XD-L56S and XD-L32S can be powered by Sony L series battery packs, NP-F970/NP-F960/NP-F770/NP-F750/.NP-F730/NP-F570/NP-L550. If your camera is Sony HVR-Z1/DSR-PD170/DSR-PD150/HDR-FX1/DCR-VX2000/DCR-VX2100, your camera batteries can be used to power the XD-L56S and XD-L32S.
Batteries for Sony DSR-PDX10, HVR-A1 and HDR-HC1 cannot be used because these video cameras accept Sony M series battery packs only. Batteries for PMW-EX1 icannot be used to power the lights.
The XD-L56P and XD-L32P can be powered by Panasonic CG series battery packs, CGR-16S/CGP-D28S/CGA-D545. If your camera is Panasonic AG-DVC30/AG-DVC32/AG-DVX100/100A/AG-DVX102A/AG-HVX200, your camera batteries can be used to power the XD-L56P and XD-L32P.
Lately battery capacity has been improved. In consideration of your camera balance when using the XD-L56S, XD-56P, XD-32S, and XD-32P, it is recommended to use second largest batteries. |

No. Unfortunately, so far, the lights are available to specific Sony and Panasonic video camera batteries. |

No. The video cameras must have a shoe mount. To use with Sony HDR-FX1 or HVR-Z1, a shoe adapter supplied with the camera is required. |

Luminosity of XD-L56S and XD-L56P is almost the same as 30W of ordinary halogen light. XD-L32S and XD-L32P is almost the same as 25W of ordinary halogen light. |

The lights incorporate power LEDs made by Phillips as their light source. The lights do not generate high heat like halogen lights do. Life of LEDs is much longer than halogen bulbs. |

To make the light smaller and lighter, the dimmer switch is not incorporated. |

Like general electronic devices, the lights generate heat by continued long hour operation. The heat may also raise color temperature of the LEDs and may shorten life of the LEDs. Thus it is not recommended to use continued one-frame shooting of the bloom of a plant or hatching of an insect. |

To change photometric color temperature of the lights, you can use ordinary color compensation filters for general lighting equipment. Yet we regret that we do not supply the color compensation filters. |
